03.10.09 (Update & Decibel Review)
Hey Everyone,
We just played our 2nd show with the new line up. It was a good glorified band practice. It’s hard to get people off there asses or call off work to come out to a sick show. Syracuse you missed a very heavy awesome show. Torch Runner ruled. They defiantly won us over.
We are hard at work booking this tour & writing our new record that will be recorded in July hopefully. We are very picky on what we write & our producer T.J. aka "Sexfarm" has been nothing but pushing us. Also helping us out with writing methods, overall better structure, being more intricate & way more abstract at times.
Our Decibel review has been nothing but favorable. It also has made us push ourselves that much harder in our writing process. Being crazier & incorporating more musicianship as well.
Regardless this is just a quick update. Nothing major than what most of you know of what we are doing.
Get a hold of us if you want to book us. We are always open for shows & we are super happy with the way the writing process is going.
Why writing a 2nd record so early? Because we have a new line up & almost sound some what different vocally & are getting more aggressive & experimental musically. We just feel a quick follow up will do us justice. We will also have a few guest vocal spots on the record. Nothing confirmed yet but be stoked ;)
Much love,
-IMBROGLIO
PS: Here is the Decibel Magazine Review....
-------------------------------------------------------
"It’s actually pretty simple. This rules.
I worry about using the term “atmospheric” when describing The Oncoming Swarm because then you’re going to think it’s some Red Sparowes rip-off bullshit with 15 minutes of post-rock reverb guitar. I assure you, that isn’t the case. But the one thing Imbroglio do that makes them so brilliant is balance an overwhelming feeling of dread with their disgusting sludge-grind.
The band spends most of this too-brief record finding the most painful ways to fuse corrosively lumbering riffs with firebombing Dresden-type blasts. And if that isn’t enough, they flawlessly incorporate noise-rock elements, as well as a couple of NYDM parts. But there’s also an undercurrent of grisly ambience. They always keep it in check (save a couple of segues), and it helps put the record into its own category. Think Swans replacing their redundancy with Today Is the Day abrasion and you’re getting close.
The only problem I have with the record is that they no longer have their singer. That really, really sucks. William Fecke sounds like the older brother of Pig Destroyer’s J.R. Hayes, with a deeper shriek that very well may carve a pentagram into your chest. It’s going to be a fucking task to find this guy’s equal.
But regardless of their future, Imbroglio have shown that it’s possible to write epic songs that don’t stretch into boring, pretentious hippie jams. If this is The Oncoming Swarm, I can’t wait until it gets here."

11.03.08 It's that time again....
Hey Everyone,
Our record "The Oncoming Swarm" is finally coming out December 23rd. I am very excited & proud of what Nate & I have accomplished since our move from Ohio. I have done all the artwork for TOS & I feel it couldn't be represented better. Especially for the early age of this band. We are turning 2 years old this February. I can't believe it's been 2 years honestly. I feel we both have come so far as musicians & people. We have helped each other grow into the musicians we have dreamed of being. There are not many drummers out there that can compare to Nate's stamina, playing capability, & overall the slew of styles he incorporates to this bands sound.
We have evolved so much since TOS especially with this new material. We have a new song that is close to a year old that was written after TOS that I know as "December" it ranges from the experimental side to the complete chaotic noise side of this band. We pushed the envelope on this one to be one the harshest noisiest musical pieces we could ever make but yet with rhythm. How that works I don't know.
The official 2nd new song that is yet untitled but we nicknamed it "Fuck Butter" is seeing the light of day. It has those most chaotic riffing & yet confusing parts to it but yet there is allot to hold on to. It's by far the most brutal & beautiful song of ours to date. I feel as far as my playing it's the most active playing with technique I have done in years. I have raised the bars for myself on this one.
We are still writing a 3rd new song that is by far one of the math time signature things with awkward timing I have ever done. But yet it still remains to be listener friendly with catchy sense to it. It also has a very doom like center piece with one of the most violent endings to a song that I have ever played. Its ugly there is nothing beautiful about it. I feel on our next record that this will be our last track. Yes it's that brutal. But yet I am not satisfied. Not even close actually.
I've been writing new material lately that I feel is up to par with everything were doing now. The best way I can describe it is take all the most brutal Imbroglio riffs and put them on steroids & add some new flavors.
Writing is a challenging thing for us. But yet we write more songs that get thrown away than we keep. We are very judgmental on our material & we are our worst critics. We bring nothing but the best of our capabilities to the table. Writing over 200 riffs for this band I have only kept less than 30 of them. We don't even really play old material anymore besides our myspace hits "Suicide Pact" & "Excavating the Killing Fields". Even then we are tired of playing those. But we still deliver those songs live the way the diserve to be played.
I don't know how bands who have been together for over 10-20 years still keep playing some of the material that they have written over 10 years ago. But they do because it's timeless. I feel those songs represent the birth of the band. But it does feel good to play those songs live. I could play them in my sleep & so could Nate.
That's enough rambling for the night good night everyone.

The Oncoming Swarm is coming December 23rd!
"IMBROGLIO - The Oncoming Swarm will be available December 23rd. If you're a fan of Architect, The Red Chord, and Gaza, you'll want to get your hands on this one! Some of the most pissed off music you'll ever hear."
-The Path Less Traveled Records (press release 2008)
----------------------------------------------------------
Hey Everyone,
Quick update. This record does not feature the new line up. This record only features... DJ. Gilbert: Guitar, Bass, Backing Vocals, & all noise & electronics.
Nathan Harrah: Drums, Percussion, & Backing Vocals.
& William Fecke: Vocals(who was our front man for the first year of this band.)
This record is not that old it is done it is finished it took us a long time to finally be happy & finished with it. So we present to you The Oncoming Swarm. Recorded @ the Foundation Recording Studios from August 2007 & Finished September 2008.
From doing the artwork independently with no one else's help but our own this is our master piece aka "our baby". We thought about rerecording the bass & vocals but it's done. William's performance is nothing less than a fit throwing hell ride & what we needed for that place in time. We are proud that he was in the beginning of this adventure of our lives & we miss him dearly.
This band grew out of a small town with small minds. We had to relocate.
This band is a constant changing idea. Not in sound but in plans. We have found it more relaxing to let the path go its course & we will see what happens. But at the same time pushing this band to keep moving forward with out any idea what will happen next.
We will still be playing material off The Oncoming Swarm. Those songs are apart of us & who we are. But we will be playing more new material than old.
Preorders will be announced shortly after everything is back from press along with a new line of merchandise ranging from limited edition posters, buttons, stickers, & shirts.
Thank you all again for your never ending support,
